Two Years
So Monday was our anniversary. Matt and I have been married for two years. In some ways it seems like the time has flown, and in other ways it honestly feels like we've been married forever. And I mean that in the best way.
So because it's our blog, and I'm feeling a little mushy, I just have to write about what a great husband Matt is, and how I lucked out. So if that kind of thing grosses you out, stop reading now. But check back in a couple of days, we'll have more pictures and videos of Amelia (who is totally walking full time now, no crawling at all today).
Matt is a great husband. He's patient, understanding, kind and thoughtful. He always puts me and Amelia first. He comes home and immediately starts helping out around the house. Whether it's to roll up his sleeves to make dinner, or to take one look at my frazzled demeanor and send me off for some alone time (if needed), he's willing to do anything he can.
He loves being an uncle. Even though he doesn't get to see the nieces and nephews that much, or knows them that well, at the first of every month he's always asking whose birthday is coming up and what should we get them?
I knew when I married Matt that he'd be a good dad. Not only is he a good dad, but he's a GREAT dad. Sure, he tends to be the 'softie' in our parenting duo, Amelia has got him wrapped around all ten of her fingers. But he loves her so much. There isn't anything he wouldn't do for her. I love seeing him interact with her. And it's completely reciprocal, she is a daddy's girl all the way. She just lights up when he comes home and it's no surprise that the only word she says is 'Da Da'. No 'Mama' yet. I'm trying though.
I know I'm not saying anything new about Matt. Anyone who has met him, knows what an amazing guy he is.
And he's not perfect. He's got flaws. But they're flaws I can live with. Most of them anyway. :)
I'm just so grateful for him. Before him, I was pretty convinced I'd never get married. I wanted too, but I'd never met anyone who I could spend so much time with and not get tired of them. I worried that as I got older and more set in my ways, that I'd have a harder time being compatible with someone.
I always wondered what it would be like to have someone love me so much. To know that to him, my needs came first. And someone I loved so much that his needs came first. I wanted someone that would be my partner, someone to share the load of life and all that came with it. Someone to raise a family with.
And in Matt, I've found that person. Even after two whole years of marriage, it never ceases to amaze me at just how lucky I am. I would have waited 10 more years, if it meant being with him. I love the way he treats me, and the way he makes me feel. I love how he's my biggest cheerleader and supporter, of whatever I might be doing (he's woken up early several times a week and been on 'Amelia Duty' so I could go out running, for months now. He never complains, even though I know it makes for long days for him).
Two years down. I can't wait to see what the next two, twenty and eternity will be like.
Now if only I could get around to actually framing and hanging up at least one of our wedding pictures...
Tune in tomorrow for some new pictures of Amelia, because I know that's the real reason you come to this blog anyway. ;)

Love that Matt! We're so glad he's in the family and takes such good care of you girls.
I'll always remember how long you've been married, also, since I can bookmark it with Isaac's age every year. Sorry again that I missed the big day, but I'm so glad that it's worked out for you. I love you!!!
You are both special to me. Happy anniversary.
And...Matt is an awesome chef and has taught Kate all that I couldn't about cooking and eating right. For that I love him best!
That was really neat. We love you guys and wish there wasn't an ocean between us all!!
